P5 Gatineau Park - Cancelled Fall Series

Due to the storm that passed through on Friday evening, Gatineau Park is closed until further notice. Our event is cancelled . NCC report extensive damage to the park and request that people stay out of the area until they have a chance to clean everything up.
This is a compact area of mostly open mature forest, with areas of intricate contour and rock detail. Parking and registration will be at the P5 parking area. For your travel to the event, we do not anticipate any road closures in Gatineau Park, but check for closures due to the Army Run that may affect your journey through downtown Ottawa. Four courses will be offered:
* Novice - 2.5 km, 8 controls, 60m climb (there is a flagged route to follow through open forest for one leg of the course).
* Intermediate - 3.1 km, 8 controls, 75m climb
* Short Advanced - 3.4 km, 13 controls, 120m climb
* Long Advanced - 5.1 km, 17 controls, 170m climb
This map was completed in 2017 from a LIDAR basemap. All courses will be printed at a scale 1:7500 with 3m contours.
Participants on Novice and Intermediate Courses have several course legs that are adjacent to the Gatineau Parkway. Signs will be posted so drivers and cyclists watch for participants; please stay well away from the road and be aware of the traffic.
Registration: 10 - 11 am
Starts: 10:15 - 11:30 am. Walk from the P5 parking area to the start is about 500 metres.
Finish: Courses close at 2 pm. All participants MUST report to the Download Station by 2 pm to allow time for control pick-up.
