Learn to Orienteer
April 22nd 2015 6:15pm - 8:00pm
Organizer: Lorna Guttormson (Coach)
Map: Nepean Sportsplex
This is a 90 minute session in which we will teach you the basics of reading an orienteering map and relating it to the land about you. You will be given a short introduction to the sport and then take a walk with map and instructor to learn what all of those map symbols mean and how to interpret them on the go. It would be a good idea to look through the legend on our maps page before the clinic. Wear clothing suitable for the weather, walking or jogging, with shoes or hiking boots that can take some mud and water.
We will meet at the back of the Nepean Sportsplex parking lot.
Please pre-register by April 21 so we can be sure to have enough maps and sufficient instructors for all. If this clinic gets filled, there is another on April 29.
Registration form can be found from our main menu at ottawaoc.ca under events/clinics
