Introduction to Orienteering Clinic
April 19th 2016 6:15pm - 8:00pm
Map: Nepean Sportsplex
This session will teach you the basics of reading an orienteering map and relating it to the land about you. You will be given a short introduction to the sport and then take a walk with map and instructor to learn what all of those map symbols mean and how to interpret them on the go. It would be a good idea to look through the legend on our maps page before the clinic. Wear clothing suitable for the weather, walking or jogging, with shoes or hiking boots that can take some mud and water. The snow might all be gone by then but there could still be some ice deeper in the woods.so something with some grip would be advised.
We will meet at the entrance to the woods at the back of the parking lot behind the Nepean Sportsplex. Look for a white pop-up tent and our wing flag.
