Map: Pinhey's Point

Once again we return to Pinhey's Point, on the Ottawa River, for fun and games, food and challenges. Drop by for the 4 hours or for an hour any time between 10 am and 2 pm. Visit and tour the historic site and join in for a point to point classic course and/or some novel orienteering fun. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for purchase on site over the lunch hour.

Here is what we are offering:

For experienced orienteers:

  • A 3.8 km advanced course
  • A 2.0 km Intermediate course
  • A couple of short sprint-type training courses: Hills, Hills, Hills; and Fast and Furious.

For new-comers:

  • A score-O style course
  • Two novice courses, approximately 500 metres each: Beginner’s Luck; and Down by the Point.

For kids:

  • Any or all of the various courses
  • Some kids’ activites, but you’ll have to wait and see what they are!

For everyone:

  • A barbecue serving hotdogs and cheesedogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, veggie burgers and veggie cheese burgers, drinks and some surprise treats!
  • Lawn games: Bocce and Kubb

Hope to see you on Saturday! Courses are open from 10 am to 2pm. Come any time and enjoy some orienteering, some good food and the beautiful Pinhey’s Point.

And for Saturday – VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!
A quick reach out for volunteers for Saturday – looking for people to help out with set-up from 8:30 am to 10 am, and looking for people, for a shift sometime between 10 am and 2pm, to help out handing out maps, answering questions, giving brief orienteering instructions to newcomers. If you can help out please e-mail Linda Connell (lindaconnell2@gmail.com) or Anne Teutsch (anne@teutsch.ca)
Thank you!!!
