Training:
There will be a variety of short sprint orienteering courses for all participants. The courses for the intermediate group will be designed to focus on sprint route choices which will be the focus of this training.
For the advanced and Train to Train and HPP groups the focus will be on the 4 'sprint laws' from an old article by Norwegian national team orienteer Anne-Margethe Hausken-Nordberg:
- Read everything to the first control
- Keep your head up and look far ahead
- Choose simpler routes
- Read the entire route to not get trapped
A reminder to please e-mail Jeff Teutsch at programs@ottawaoc.ca by noon on Thursday to reserve a map. We do not guarantee maps for those that don't send an e-mail.
