Map: Kanata Lakes

Parking and meeting point: We will be meeting at the small shelter at the corner of the forest by the soccer field for a 6:30 start. Park in the small parking lot off of Innovation Dr.

Training:

For the final practice of the spring season we will be doing a fun partners activity in which each pair of orienteers need to decide how to split up a 24 control score-o into 8 3-control legs starting and finishing at the meeting point. You and your partner will take turns running a leg of three controls relay style.

You are encouraged to partner up with someone of a different skill level and someone you don't know super well so you can discuss and learn from each other as you do this activity. Teams can treat this as a race or not as they wish.

Advanced level orienteers will also have an orienteering simulation activity to do while their partner is out collecting controls on the map. Intermediate level orienteers are also welcome to do this activity if they wish. The activity will be explained on site.

For those that are interested we will be heading over to the Barley Mow across March Road (the far end of the 700 March Road block) to share food and stories after this last practice of the spring season.

A reminder to please e-mail Jeff Teutsch at programs@ottawaoc.ca by noon on Thursday to reserve a map. We do not guarantee maps for those that don't send an e-mail.
