Constance Bay Event Fall Series
November 8th 2020 10:00am - 2:00pm
Map: Constance Bay
Meet Director: Paul Lefebvre; Controller : Mary Ellen Connolly
This Sunday is turning out to be a trifecta Orienteering day. Perfect weather, a wide open forest and a new map. Now your are thinking, Constance Bay is a new map? I have been there before! Yes you have, but the map has been completely redone, with more accurate contours and excellent mapping of the vegetation.
Eric Kemp has spent many days expertly mapping out both the vegetation and fallen trees. This allows us to use areas that we avoided since they were previously mapped completely green. Now you will be able to pick the optimal route through the area.
Given the relatively flat terrain and numerous trails on the map, we have made the courses a bit longer this weekend, so you can take full advantage of the great weather and new map.
Novice: 2.6 km and 16 controls
Intermediate: 3.4 km and 14 controls
Short Advanced: 5.4 km and 17 controls
Long Advanced: 9.1 km and 24 controls
The event is starting from the Constance Bay Community Centre. 262 Len Purcell Dr, Woodlawn, ON K0A 3M0. https://maps.app.goo.gl/W45eKTTfFCktwbwv6
With the great weather forecast on Sunday, we expect there to be a large turnout for the last scheduled event this season. Don't miss out.
- Registration is open now and will close at 8pm Saturday OR when all the check-in time slots are full.
- Please respect the check-in time you select. Try to arrive to check-in within your check-in window. After you check-in, you can go back to your car if you want to prep for your race and start when you are ready.
- All courses close at 2pm. You must report back to download by 2 pm. If you want to run the long advanced course, you should register early. If you miss an early check-in time you should select a shorter course.
