Pre-registration is required and costs $10 per session or is free with the purchase of a summer pass (but pre-registration is still required). In order to guarantee that you get a freshly printed map please register by noon on Thursday. We will do our best to accommodate those that register Thursday afternoon by sharing maps.

Parking and meeting point:

We will meet in the field next to the New Edinburgh Park Fieldhouse as shown on the map for a 6:30 start. You can park along Stanley Ave or be green and take public transit or bike.

Practice details:

As this is only our second Thursday Orienteering Practice in a over a year and a half we will be keeping that in mind for everyone. This first session will be focusing specifically on sprint orienteering maps and technique.

Intermediate group - this group will spend the session going through the key intermediate orienteering techniques - compass use, looking up and recognizing features, and reading ahead.

Advanced and Train to Train groups - these groups will have some courses with complex sprint route choice legs to tackle on a couple of variations on the map. We will be sharing tips on finding the best route and will be able to compare the different routes afterwards.

Team Canada athletes - Team Canada athletes will be running o-tervals (orienteering course intervals) with a pursuit start. Courses will include extremely challenging route choices.
