Map: Pinhey's Point

Hello Orienteering Ottawa Families and Friends,

On Saturday, May 21, Pinhey’s Point Historic Site and Orienteering Ottawa will once again partnering up to bring you and your family and friends the most fun, most family-oriented, most you-want-to-be-there orienteering event of the year! We will be set up from 10:00 to 2:00 to welcome any- and everyone to test out their orienteering skills or to try it for the first time.

Pinhey’s Point is a Historic site on the Ottawa River, with parkland, a gorgeous view of Gatineau Park, a play structure, lots of space to run around, and a very special museum.

A barbecue will be going all day – best price, best flipped burgers and hotdogs in town, as well as ice cold drinks!

There will be lots of short, fun courses try out. We have Beginner’s Best and Down by the Point for starters, and when those are too easy, we have Hills, Hills, Hills if you need a good workout, and Fast and Furious, if you’re either fast or furious! We also have two longer courses or 2 km and 4 km, for everyone who wants to put some distance into their day.

Like all great events, the Family Orienteering Day at Pinhey’s Point will need some volunteers. We’re especially inviting our new families to have a chance to get involved with the club. If you like to barbecue we need you! We also need folks to out a bit with set-up, clean-up, and handing out maps to participants. All volunteers will still have lots of opportunity to try out all the courses they want! If you can help out I would love to hear from you! Contact us at anne@ottawaoc.ca.
