Organizer: Jeff Teutsch (Event Director)

Map: Rockliffe Park

Parking and meeting point:

We will meet at Rockcliffe Park Parking lot P1 (see google maps here). There is plenty of parking or, as always, we encourage cycling or taking the bus as green forms of transportation.

Practice details:

This week's practice will bring together a combination of compass work and detailed map reading. Both advanced and intermediate groups will have similar exercises that include portions where compass are the primary technique, portions where detailed map reading is the primary technique, and portions where both will be equally valuable. The intermediate group will start with by going out with a coach and then will have an opportunity to try some of the exercise on their own.

You will want to have a headlamp with you this week as it will be getting dark around 6:35, and about half an hour earlier in the woods. We recommend a headlamp with a rating of at least 500 lumens and more is better. If you have any questions about headlamps just ask (jeff@ottawaoc.ca)

All participants should also bring a compass (we will have a few extras if you don't have one) and, optionally, a control description holder

Registration:

In order to guarantee that you get a freshly printed map please send an email to jeff@ottawaoc.ca by noon on Thursday. We will do our best to accommodate those that register Thursday afternoon by sharing maps
