Map: Nakkertok South

The temperature will moderate, the trails will be in good condition, and we will have access to the Nakkertok chalet to keep us all warm.

In the afternoon, the Nakkertok Adventure Program will use the courses for their annual Adventure Ski. We will support them with our SI timing system so they can easily calculate results. Other Nak. afternoon programs have been invited - like the Learn-to-Ski and Paranordic training groups. They will use the control sites in a Score-O format and often ski in teams.

Nakkertok sample

For our morning Club event there will be 3 point-to-point courses - Short, Medium and Long. With a twist. Because the trail network at Nakkertok has become familiar to many of you, we are "closing down" certain sections of the network to make the navigation more exciting! See the map snippet to give you a sample of the out-of-bounds areas. Yes, we will often be closing-off the easiest routes between controls. And there are many standard one-way trails in the network that must be obeyed for safety.

  • Short - 4km (it will take you 6km)
  • Medium - 5.8 km ((expect 7.4 km minimum)
  • Long - 7.4 may take you 13 km to complete.

Registration:

Registration is on-site in the chalet. However, if you have not participated in any Orienteering Ottawa event this past year, please complete this 'intent to register' form to give us your contact information in advance. This will make your on-site registration faster for you and it will help us as well. It will have to be entered by noon Saturday. Payment for the event will be cash only as there is no internet available at this site. Also, remember that the season pass does not include our winter events. It expired December 31, 2024.

Timing :

  • Registration 9:30
  • Start Window - 9:45 - 10:15 no later!
  • Courses close - 12:15

This is to allow afternoon registrations to start at 12:30

For safety reasons, please reverse park (back into) into a parking spot upon arrival at Nakkertok leaving sufficient room as needed to unload your skis.

Good luck!

Bill Anderson, meet director, with James Connell as controller. Robbie Anderson was the chief course designer.
