Three Night Orienteering courses: Short/Easy, Intermediate and Long.

This is a special limited invitation night orienteering event to test whether or not we can host a similar and larger night orienteering event there during the Canadian Orienteering Championships Week in 2017.

  • Will orienteers enjoy the open, park-like orienteering setting (don’t worry, there are lots of woods)
  • Will they respect the special out of bounds areas such as golf greens and sand traps?
  • Will the club earn enough on food and beverage sales to make their hospitality worthwhile.

Rivermead is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf course in the Ottawa/ Gatineau area. Besides the golf fairways there are ample wooded areas and rolling terrain. I think you will enjoy orienteering there as much as I am enjoying making the map.

Come early and enjoy a pre-race snack or refreshment, stay after for more snack and refreshment, some camaraderie and route choice comparisons.

Bring a flashlight or headlamp. Also you will not be allowed to use footwear with metal studs.

This event will only be open to Orienteering Ottawa members and regular participants at our events. Pre-registration is required so the golf club knows how many participants to expect and we know how many maps to print. Regular event pricing will be in effect with payment due at check in.

Trois parcours d’orienteering à la nuit. : Court/facile, Intermédiaire et Long.
