Accommodation

Camping

If you choose to camp this year we recommend you stay at Fitzroy Provincial Park. Fitzroy PP is a mere 20 minutes away from all of our training locations and has great facilities and offers individual campsites and group camping options. Unfortunately we don’t have the man-power to organize group camping this year but if participants wish to organize that themselves let us know (programs @ ottawaoc.ca) and we can let everyone know that that option is available.

Reservations are required at Fitzroy PP. You can reserve a site by calling 613-623-5159

Hotels

There are numerous hotels 25 minutes away from the various training locations in Kanata at various price points.

Food

You will need provide your own breakfasts and packed lunches (to eat on site between morning and afternoon training sessions). We will provide additional water at all training sessions though not enough to be everyone sole source of water. On Sunday morning after the event there will be cookies and fruit post-race.

On Saturday we will coordinate a reservation for dinner at a Kanata restaurant based on numbers and preferences during the day. There is nothing planned for Friday evening.

Costs

When you register you will have the option to register for Saturday, Sunday or ‘both’. The both option includes both Saturday and Sunday’s training as well as Friday evening’s training session. There is no option to pay for a single training session this year as we are wanting to encourage everyone to come out for the entire weekend.

Orienteering Ottawa club members’ get a discounted rate. Club members that have a season’s pass get a further $10 off if they are participating on Sunday morning (i.e. for Sunday and ‘both’ options).
