Meet Director/Course Setter: Frederic Bedard; Controller: Bill Meldrum ;

Registration : 10:00 - 11:00, Starts 10:30 - 11:30, Course closes 2pm

Location : Asticou Centre : NCC P1 on Blvd. de la Cite des Jeunes in Gatineau.

NCC has given the go-ahead for the meet. The park is now open

Have you ever participated in a "snow"rienteering event? For the last B-meet of the fall, there might be indeed a couple of centimeters of white powder on the ground. Otherwise, the ground might be covered with frost or just be saturated with water, so use appropriate footwear and warm socks.

This is a new map in an area that was used in the past mainly for rogaine events. The map built from lidar is now much more detailed.

Note that for the advanced courses, the small or indistinct footpaths marked on the map might be difficult to follow as there is a new thick cover of dead leaves on them in some areas. Also, note that most of the indistinct marshes have no water, they are just flat areas with a thick cover of dead leaves and no other vegetation on them.

There will be the usual 4 options of courses:

Novice - 2.5 km - 25 m elevation gain

Intermediate - 3.4 km - 85 m elevation gain

Short advanced - 3.9 km - 115 m elevation gain

Long advanced - 6.6 km - 240 m elevation gain

There will be water on the course only for the long advanced participants.

We have rented the cafeteria (no food services) of the "École des métiers spécialisés Asticou", which is on the north-west side of the Asticou complex in Hull, off Cité-des-Jeunes. The parking next to the entrance is P6B.

Lat - Long coordinates: 45.452051, -75.764911

Please consider volunteering to collect controls at the end of the meet.
