Nakkertok Ski-O Winter Series

Ski trail conditions are world class and the weather forecast for next Sunday is sunny and colder. It will be a great day to wrap up the club’s ski-o winter series at Nakkertok. The trails where the courses will take you are groomed for skate and classic.

Terrain: Nakkertok trails offer some technical ski terrain with short hills of varied steepness, many loops, junctions and some one-way trails which will make the ski-o both fun and tricky at times. Please obey all signs, ski in the indicated direction, and keep off any closed trails! Note that “classic-only” trails have been made out-of-bounds to prevent trail damage. They are clearly marked on the map with purple hatching.

SHORT 2.9 km
MEDIUM 6.4 km
LONG 9.6 km

Registration will be upstairs in the “blue room” of the barn-like building behind the main ski chalet. The door and stairs are on the south side of the building. The blue room has tables and benches but for a more comfortable post-race lunch you can use the main ski chalet. There will be other ski school programs using these facilities.

Cross country ski pass fees: Please note that if you are not a Nakkertok ski pass holder all ski-orienteers will need to pay an additional daily fee. As a group, we receive a 15% discount on the regular rates and believe me the trail fees are worth every cent. Please bring cash to pay for your daily ski pass!

Social time: Downloading will be in the blue room. Stick around to chat about your route choices over a delicious cup of hot chocolate that will be served! Bring your lunch and BYOM (bring your own mug).

Map and directions: Take Exit 141 Blvd La Verendrye from autoroute 50 in Gatineau, turn left over the highway and then immediate right onto Avenue Gatineau. Follow it 4 km. to Nakkertok.
