Organizer: Stefan Bergstrom (Host)

In this time of physical distancing and lack of orienteering the club is planning on hosting a series of online get togethers. Each of these sessions will be led by a different club member and will have a specific topic which will be used to center the discussion. These are intended to be partially informative about the topic and partially an opportunity for everyone to connect with friends they haven't been able to see this spring and chat about orienteering. No matter your level of orienteering experience and knowledge we hope you will join us and get something out of these.

This session is open to everyone but we will be talking about event planning and course setting and course setters and meet directors in particular are encouraged to attend though all orienteers can learn and improve their orienteering by learning about these topics. The session will be hosted by Stefan Bergstrom, one of Canada's most experienced course setters and meet directors.

Material

The discussion will be based around planning a theoretical event at Vorlage. Stefan will share his screen as we go but if you want to see the map directly on your computer (so you can zoom in for example) you can find it here.

Joining the session

The session will be hosted on zoom. To access the meeting click on the following link (which will take you to the meeting or will download zoom for you), use the meeting ID and password, or call in with one of the following phone numbers. Please send an email to programs@ottawaoc.ca if you are interested in participating. This is not binding either way but we would like to get a sense of how many people might call in.

Time: May 7, 2020 7:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
