Map: Cité des Jeunes

Course setter/controller Andrew Cornett, Cathy Bakker

After a successful and enjoyable O-fest last weekend, Orienteering Ottawa's fall series continues this Sunday with a B-meet on the north part of the excellent Cité des Jeunes map.

Registration / check-in will be set up on the east side of Blvd Cité des Jeunes where the Leamy Creek bike path crosses Cité des Jeunes (View map of registration location). Parking is available on neighbouring side streets east of Blvd. Cité des Jeunes (i.e. Rue du Plein Air), or at the Mont Bleu sports field (1 km south). The registration site is also easily accessible by bike and public transit.

Four courses will be waiting for you to discover:

  • Novice, 2.9km, 11 check-points on trails, 1:7,500 map scale
  • Intermediate, 3.8km, 9 check-points close to trails, 1:7,500 map scale
  • Short Advanced, 3.8km, 12 check-points, 1:7,500 map scale
  • Long Advanced, 6.8km, 17 check-points, 1:10,000 map scale

This is the first weekend of Gatineau Park's Fall Rhapsody, so the trails will likely be busy if the weather is nice. Participants are reminded to respect other park users.

Runners on the Long course will cross the Gatineau Parkway twice; please check in both directions before crossing. The road will be open to motorized traffic after 12:00.

We look forward to seeing many of you this Sunday!
