Beaverbrook Orienteering Practice Thursday Orienteering Practice
September 15th 2022 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Organizer: Jeff Teutsch (Coach)
Map: Beaverbrook
Parking and meeting point: We will meet at the back of the parking lot by the Mlacak Centre / Beaverbrook library off at 2500 Campeau Dr as shown on the map for a 6:30 start. Parking is free or you can be green and take public transit or bike.
Training: As this is the first practice of the season the session will be designed to get you back into the routine and flow of orienteering and map reading. The intermediate level and anyone else who wants to tag along will be doing a map walk with an instructor. You will go out as a group and get some instructions and tips from one of our experienced coaches to kick start your season.
Advanced orienteers will have a series of courses getting gradually more challenge to practice your map reading and your 'flow'. Take it slow.
There will be some tips and helpful advice from one of our coaches at the start of the practice and there will be coaches around throughout to give you feedback.
Team Canada and Train to Train program athletes will start with a group warm-up that anyone is welcome to join.
Please e-mail Jeff Teutsch at jeff@ottawaoc.ca by noon on Thursday to reserve a map. We do not guarantee maps for those that don't send an e-mail (though as this is the first practice of the season we will have a few extras printed).
