Our third summer solstice event will be held at Chapel Hill. Read below for important information.

Course/Map Notes

The Chapel Hill map consists of two distinct sections. The eastern side has ravines with steep slopes and muddy creek crossings. The west side is a flat plateau, with many intricate details which makes for advanced navigation. The map is up to date, with the exception of numerous new bike trails. This is most prevalent in the western plateau, but do not be surprised if you find unmapped paths anywhere in the forest. Due to the nature of the terrain and the fact that Chapel Hill is a fully forested map, navigation will be more difficult than past summer solstices. However, there are still plenty of controls within eyesight of the trails for beginners.

Clothing

Long sleeves are recommended. Mosquitoes have been bad, so plan accordingly. Metal studs are recommended for advanced runners.

Safety

There is one major road which separates the western side of the map from the eastern side. Certain sections of this road have been marked as out of bounds, except for designated crossing points. This will be most important during the mass start. See the map snippet of how this will look. Note that you may still run alongside this road on the sidewalk.

Parking

Parking will be at the Chapel Hill Catholic School. If there is not enough space, there is plenty of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Registration

Registration will be at the gazebo just south of the school: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FNEnY1fAWGPvcAo69

Hope to see you there!
