The second event of the Summer Sprints series will be staged on Tuesday evening, July 23rd, with starts from 6:15-7:30pm. Come out and enjoy a flat and fast course at uOttawa, perfect preparation for the NAOC sprint races in Kingston which are now only two weeks away. Registration will be on the patio at Father and Sons. Street parking is available throughout the neighborhood wherever you can find it. Two sprint courses will be available. Note that the course lengths given here are along the shortest route.

Be sure to hang around and grab a drink or food afterward!

Map and Course Stats

  • Short, 3.2km, 17 controls
  • Long, 5.0km, 27 controls

The map scale is 1:4,000 with 2.5m contours. The terrain is flat and the running surface is mainly hard ground with some short grass.

Timing

  • Check-In: 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm
  • First Start: 6:15 pm
  • Start Interval: 30 sec.
  • Last Start: 7:30 pm
  • Course Closed: 7:45 pm

Special Note

Both courses (primarily the long) will make use of artificial barriers that will NOT be marked in the terrain. These will be denoted by thick purple lines with hatching within (see example below). These should be treated as invisible walls that cannot be passed, although if you do accidentally cross one just go back out the way you came and continue on your course as usual.

See you there,

Andrew and Paul
